I'm completely dying for Emily info!!!!!!!!

Going from the trademarks, it would be difficult for AG to fit in a Ruthie character this year since the name still hasn't been trademarked. (I checked again today, and no Ruthie.)

"Emily" was trademarked some time ago, and it costs several hundred dollars to file each trademark (there is more than one in Emily's name)--that's if you do it yourself--AG hires lawyers, and they would charge a lot more than that. Although AG abandons a lot of trademarks, I don't think they'd intentionally file one to throw us off track. Well, maybe they would, but I hope not--that's probably thousands of dollars down the tubes just to throw off a few people . . . I don't think AG is that eager to throw us off (hopefully [img]smile.gif[/img] ).

They seem to be filing the names about a year in advance, in which case Emily's filing would be the only one to fit in with that. There were two that I could find this time, although I think there's one out there for clothing as well:

September filing for "TOYS, GAMES AND PLAYTHINGS"
November filing for "TOYS, GAMES AND PLAYTHINGS"

By September, October, or November of this year, we can probably start searching the trademarks for a new friend doll! But for now I'd be surprised if AG came out with any other friend doll than Emily, simply because it wouldn't follow their normal formula and the legal hoops they have to go through to protect their rights.
